JAMB promises not to raise the 2026 UTME and DE form fees

  • Prospective applicants and interested parties have been reassured by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) that there are currently no intentions to raise the price of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) application forms.
  •  In its Weekly Bulletin, which was obtained on Monday, JAMB clarified that any future increases would only take place if they were absolutely necessary to maintain the integrity and caliber of the examination process.
  • Parents, guardians, and potential applicants were reassured by the board that neither UTME nor DE fees had been raised in the previous nine years.
  •  It stated, "In fact, within the nine years of the current administration's existence, registration costs have been reduced for prospective candidates.
  • The board went on to say that this policy is in line with President Bola Tinubu's mandate, which was communicated through the minister of education, that its operations must take into consideration the economic realities that Nigerian families confront as well as the administration's human-face policies.
  • The JAMB said, "This clarification is provided to properly guide members of the public who wish to plan ahead for their children's education, as the cost implication for the 2026 exercise remains largely the same as that of the previous year."
  •  In the meantime, JAMB advised parents and guardians to plan ahead and make sure their children are registered on time, pointing out that once the registration period starts, it won't be prolonged.

"The board has continued to function effectively and responsibly despite this downward review of fees, resulting in significant remittances to the federal government over the years."

This demonstrates JAMB's dedication to responsibility, openness, and efficient public-sector financial management.
