The head of the Army assures soldiers of better welfare and operational assistance.
Nigerian Army officers and soldiers have received assurances from Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, Chief of Army Staff, on improved welfare programs designed to improve morale and operational efficacy. Col. Appolonia Anele, the Army's spokesperson, said in a statement on Wednesday that Shaibu made the promise while speaking to soldiers of the 18 Brigade at Latini Barracks in Bida, Niger State. He stated that in order to achieve long-term operational success, the Nigerian Army is still dedicated to placing a high priority on the welfare of its soldiers and their families.
"Under my direction, the Nigerian Army is steadfastly dedicated to putting the welfare of soldiers and their families first as a vital component of attaining long-term operational success. According to Shaibu, "the welfare of personnel is receiving serious and continuous attention."
In order to boost security and rebuild public trust, he asked them to continue their unwavering commitment to discrediting and eliminating terrorists and outlaws. In order to enhance the welfare and economic empowerment of soldiers' families, the COAS also declared plans to build more housing facilities and set up centers for skill development. According to The PUNCH, the Army Chief has been in Niger State since Tuesday. He met with Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago and former Heads of State Generals Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar, reiterating the Army's dedication to operational excellence, enhanced security, and cooperation with state and national leaders.
He went to the palace of Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, the Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers and Etsu Nupe, on Wednesday in order to evaluate current military deployments, find operational gaps, and identify regions that require more troops and resources.
